Dr.Raja fooled me up front. After surgery he didnt know who I was...day after lower back surgery spoke to Jessica told her I had bad headaches & the medicine was working for pain. She said Dr. RAJA wasn't in, they'd get back to me. NEVER HEARD A WORD. HIS aftercare papers say call the hospital (ASH) if any issues , I DID CALL SATURDAY. surgery was Thursday...they called him & he said something TO THE TUNE OF ITS GONNA BE MONDAY BEFORE ANYTHING IS DONE. I was escorted to the exam room by a young lady who said that she would return to check my blood pressure. She never returned to the the exam room. I was in the exam room for an hour. I walked out without being seen by Dr. Raja.

First visit with doctor Raja. I went to him for second opinion because I wasn’t comfortable with the first doctor who immediately wanted to schedule fusion surgery. Dr. Raja answered all my questions and wanted to make sure that fusion surgery was my best option. As he put it, you want to make sure this is what we need to do since you’ll have to live with it the rest of your life.

I was pretty nervous when I showed up for my first appointment with him with the fear that I will have to have surgery. After meeting him and talking to him for a moment, a sense of calm overtook me. Even after he had made clear I would need surgery, the fear never returned! First time meeting Dr Raja and staff. All were very nice and accommodating. Dr Raja was very nice and answered questions I asked. Showed me my MRI and Described what we were !looking at. He explained what he planned to do and showed the problem spots on the MRI. He also worked with a conservative plan...did not want to operate without trying some noninvasive treatments first. I really appreciate that line of treatment.

After again waiting more than 60 minutes past my appointment time to see Dr. Raja, we had a good conversation and came to some conclusions. I believe he cares about his patients and that his office is not good at scheduling patients such that they may be seen within 10 minutes of their appointment times. This needs improvement. Getting unto parking area was terrible. Decor of facility needed to be upgrade. These things have nothing to do with Dr. Raja’s expertise as a neurosurgeon but I felt that I might possibly be in the wrong office. I thought someone with the excellent reputation he has should work in a more pleasant and comforting environment for both he and his patients.
